Classical Stretch by Essentrics
American Public TelevisIon'S longest running fitness TV show

The Classical Stretch television series is created, produced and hosted by Miranda Esmonde-White. The #1 fitness show on PBS for over 15 years—Classical Stretch has been helping people of all ages and fitness levels rebalance their bodies, increase mobility and keep joints healthy and pain-free. Based on the intelligent fitness technique ESSENTRICS—each 30-minute episode of Classical Stretch features a full-body workout with dynamic strengthening and stretching exercises: all-standing, all-floor or all-barre.

Participants will notice an immediate increase in flexibility and a release of tension in their muscles after each episode–improving their posture and range of motion. Stress is released and aches and pains are soothed through the gradual unlocking of the entire body.

Classical Stretch is distributed by American Public Television and can be viewed locally on public television stations across the nation. Check for times

About the Host
miranda Esmonde-White

Miranda Esmonde-White is one of America’s greatest advocates and educators of healthy aging. She is best known for her PBS fitness show, Classical Stretch, which has been aired since 1999 and is rated the #1 fitness show on the network, and for creating the ESSENTRICS technique which Classical Stretch is based upon. She has filmed over 300 episodes of Classical Stretch workouts, many of them available on DVD.  Following her career as a professional ballerina, Miranda developed ESSENTRICS, which led to her becoming the flexibility trainer and consultant to numerous professional and Olympic athletes and celebrities.

Miranda’s new book, Aging Backwards, will revolutionize the way we understand the role fitness plays in slowing down the aging process while keeping our bodies young, attractive, strong and healthy. Based in Montreal, Miranda spends her time continuing to develop the technique, writing and training new instructors. She travels extensively giving lectures, weeklong Teacher Training sessions and retreats.

Classical Stretch TV series sponsors

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity and hospitality over the last several years—without their support, the filming of Classical Stretch would not be possible.  The beautiful backgrounds in each episode are due to the picturesque scenery of the gorgeous resorts, hotels and tourist attractions where we’ve had the privilege to film.

Thank you for helping us maintain the quality and charm of Classical Stretch at a standard that is much appreciated by our longtime viewers!
