This year we made a major marketing decision to change the name of Classical Stretch to Essentrics for Instructors only. We will keep the name Classical Stretch on PBS. After years of market analysis and feedback we came to the conclusion that the name Classical Stretch inaccurately described the program. We were told over and over again that the name Classical Stretch gave the impression that the program was for elderly folk and it was only stretching, when you all know that this is as much a strength program as it is a stretch program and of course its great for all ages! Knowing that this vital program is for people of all ages who want to be stronger and feel better, we had to accept that the name Classical Stretch was doing us a disservice and so we searched for a more appealing more relevant name.
The name we have chosen is Essentrics which not only has an exciting marketing appeal it also describes perfectly the technique we are doing. We will continue using the name Classical Stretch on the PBS TV series as it has a solid fan base. However, we recommend that all instructors use the name Essentrics in their advertising and promotional material. Essentrics is a vibrant, edgy name that has a fun modern ring and is appealing to new fitness clients. It also reflects the fact that strengthening is involved!
As an instructor, you will notice that fitness centers respond very well to the new name; this is important when you are introducing them to a new program. |
